Umbrella Trees in Rome

“I feel a great regard for trees; they represent age and beauty and the miracles of life and growth.” ― Louise Dickinson Rich

Rome is known for the beauty of its architecture, its churches, its many fountains and its incredible food. But another thing Rome is known for, is its iconic stone pine trees known as Pinus Pinea. It is shaped like a parasol so it is sometimes called Umbrella Pines. It is impossible to think of Rome without these amazing trees.

  1. My city impresses a lot of people. It’s without a doubt a beautiful city even though it’s probably not the most relaxing place one can live in.
But, yes, apart from the monuments we do have plenty of trees and, in fact, 65 % of the territory that comprises the municipality of Rome is green areas
