My Own Sanctuary

“Within you there is a stillness and sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.” – Hermann Hesse

Melbourne has now just announced more severe lockdown rules, meaning we are now in stage 4 of restrictions. We are allowed to walk for exercise but not more than 5km away from our place of residence. The Victorian Premier has also announce curfew hours from 8pm til 5 am and only one person per family can go shopping per day. More announcements will be made tomorrow about work restrictions.

During this time and with the current situation we are in, I am very thankful that we are still allowed to go out of our houses even just for an hour for exercise. It is refreshing to still enjoy the simple joys of nature especially for our mental state. Though it is tough at the moment, looking at these gorgeous two legged feathered creatures somehow makes my life a little bit lighter.

This wetlands is a few steps away from my house so I always find this my safe haven to just sit on the benches whether it is foggy, cloudy or sunny.

“It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

But at the end of the day this is my home. I have lived here for 22 years and I have always loved it. It is near everything that I have ever needed…nothing lavish, but it is where I can relax and unwind… my own sanctuary.
