A Tree in Mornington

“To climb a tree is for a CHILD to discover a new WORLD.” – Froebel, Education of Man 1826

This is an ordinary tree in the centre of Mornington, Victoria. But what is special about it, is its seemingly outstretched arms welcoming the kids to climb its branches. Tree climbing is not an normal sight nowadays as children are usually just cooped up at home glued to their computers. So this is such a refreshing scene for me as I sat there with my husband having a box of pizza.

I like the quote and also the image, which is not common these days. I remember as a child playing near the trees, climbing and having fun.

So interesting. Even in India, I don’t get to see kids climbing up trees. I have done that growing up and I miss climbing a tree. If I see this tree, I might attempt again.
Thanks for joining with this one Teresa. It made me smile. I hope to see you back tomorrow.
