Cape Bojeador Lighthouse

“Let your light shine so that others can see their way out of the dark.” – Timber Hawkeye

Cape Bojeador or also called the Burgos Lighthouse is located in the northern part of the Philippines, in the province of Ilocos Norte. This lighthouse was first lit on March 20, 1892.

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse was declared a National Historical Landmark on August 13, 2004 and a National Culture Treasure on June 20, 2005 by the Philippine government.

It is, as you can say ‘off the beaten path’ but a short ride on a tricycle or maybe even a hike to the top of the hill will give you an amazing glimpse of the surrounding countryside.

Having climbed the steps to the actual octagonal shaped lighthouse, one can see the magnificent panoramic view of the greeneries and jagged coastline of the South China Sea.

It was very windy up there as most of the doors were wide open, welcoming visitors to take a peek of its history.
