“One step at a time is good walking.” – proverb
Update: We still can’t go too far from home due to contact tracing guidelines and the 25km rules but still it is like a heavy rock has been taken off our shoulders. Everybody’s rejoicing as if it were New Year! Melbourne is open Restaurants are open for dining in and shopping is back … dear ol’ personal shopping and not online shopping! Woohoo the economy is on its way to recovery.
KindaSquare #29 – Walking Kind of Day
These are some of the interesting doors and places that can be seen around the streets of Sandringham. I have always seen Norm and other people post about these kinds of street libraries but I haven’t seen one myself. I don’t think it is as common here in Melbourne so I was surprised to see this.
The artwork done by the kids of this Primary school
Cute window drawings on one of the laneways of Sandringham.
Here’s a barbershop that has just opened up.
And lastly, here is one very timely warning that I saw on Facebook. Be kind and thoughtful of others…
Sandringham is a lovely area that I was able to visit the two times I was in Melbourne.

Love the library boxes, and all the colourful murals. Such fun – the final piece of the advice is a good one. They should also add make sure indoors is ventilated!

Thanks Becky…and I should take note of your addition.

You found one, yay! It’s a beauty too.
Glad to hear the situation there is improving enough for restrictions to be eased. Enjoy the fresh air 🙂

Thanks Norm, but every week I don’t know why your comment always goes to spam. Anyway, when I saw it, I remembered you and your tiny library posts.

So happy for you Teresa – it finally came!! Love the barber’s cave:) Also funny, but maybe needed is the 10 week warning. Am running behind, but I particularly liked the somber dark mood in your post a few weeks ago, and like to ask you permission to use it for one of my paintings as a background. It may not look like your pic, but stealing is against my way of working. So …if you grant it, how do I navigate to that post?

Thanks Doc, you’re most welcome to use it. But which one are you talking about?

Pleas call me Jesh – the Doc is for some ….who think they’re all that! If you get my drift. The only thing I can remember was a very dark and narrow street – no people, but with the perfect somber mood… sorry I’m not having more details.

I am not so sure Jesh but I have a street scene here https://mywanderings.travel.blog/2020/10/16/melbourne-100-days-of-lockdown/ but I am not sure if that is the one you’re talking about. I haven’t changed any photos.

I’m envious of your 25 kilometers to travel, we’re back to only 5 again in another lockdown. What a great collection of colourful photos, my favourite is that little library.

Nice post. We have a few street libraries in Bristol but none quite as pretty as that one.

Is that so? I would have thought that Bristol has so much more. Bristol is one in my bucketlist…hopefully situations get better in your part of the world.

It didn’t come without any great sacrifices. Hundred of days of lockdown wasn’t easy. Thanks for the comment Anne.

I just started following you; some of your older posts are wonderful, like this one of the little library boxes; we have those here too, but not so colorful. However, reading things from October is extremely sad, we thought things regarding Covid were getting better then, now they are not. I am in San Francisco, all locked down again.

Hi Carol, thanks for the follow. Yes, so nice to read other people’s blog…you learn so much about other places.
Be safe always. You can never tell…for more than 2 months we were covid free but here we go again.
