Focus on Budapest

“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.” – unknown

Budapest is one of the most photogenic city of Europe. So for Patti’s Lens Artist Photo Challenge for this week, with the topic of Focus on the Subject, I have decided to feature this beautiful city. The photo above is the Hungarian Parliament.

Leading Lines – Matthias Church

Framing the Shot – Fisherman’s Bastion

Selective Focus – Shoes on the Danube (a holocaust memorial)

Colour – Heroes Square

Contrast – in Szentendre, Hungary

Focus on the Eyes – Chain Bridge

Freezing the Action – an older style tram in Budapest

One of my favorite places in the world Teresa – thanks for the fond memory! Loved your image of the Fisherman’s Bastion. The shoes memorial was one of the most touching I’ve ever seen. It’s one of very few of my images that I’ve actually framed and hung in my home. it’s a perfect reminder of what can happen when good people do nothing to right the wrongs of our world.

I know, Tina, sad reminder indeed. I stood there for a long time and can’t fathom what a child or a mother might be feeling…seeing these small shoes of children. Thanks For the wonderful comment.

Ohh…we were supposed to go to Prague this year. Next year, we’ll go, hopefully. Your beautiful shots make me more eager to go than ever. Lovely examples of all the different techniques. Your image of the shoes on the Danube is so moving. Beautiful captures.

I so love Prague, but Budapest is wonderful too. If only we could’ve stayed longer. The shoes on the Danube is really a moving memorial. Standing right there was such a different experience than just seeing it on google.
