“Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.”. – unknown
I miss my two sisters… especially now that we were supposed to go back to the Philippines on January of 2021 for a holiday. But of course, that didn’t push through.
My two sisters both live in the Philippines but from different parts of the country and I am here in Australia. These photos were in 2012, when we visited one of the oldest houses in the Philippines, a 17th-century structure called the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House in Cebu*. The architecture is a combination of Spanish and Chinese influences in our country and most of the structure and items are preserved.
You will notice here the widely opened window panels all around the house which are made of Philippine hardwood. Some of them have been painted over with images like the one with the madonna and child and the other one with people dressed in Filipino costumes.
*Cebu is a province of the Philippines in the central Visayas region.
