“Sculpture and paintings are moments of life; poetry is life itself.” – Walter Savage Landor
Sitting high UP on the corner of Brunswick Street and Argyle Streets in Fitzroy is Mr Poetry, a sculpture by Peter Corlett. Mr Poetry is Adrian Rawlins (1938-2001), a poet and music journalist.
He is described as: ‘Adrian Rawlins: poet, performer, organiser, entrepreneur, raconteur, ratbag, stirrer, hipster, counter culture Guru OM.’
This was done by a leading Australian figurative sculptor, Peter Corlett, who has in the past 40 years completed about 30 major public sculpture commissions.
And here is an additional challenge for me…to be able to squeeze in as many entries to challenges in one post as possible. I thinks I am pretty successful here. Wink wink
My sort of bloke!
