Trams of Melbourne

“When the tram has arrived at the stop, you have to be there! Calculate where a good opportunity will stop and be there!” – Mehmet Murat ildan

Trams have been an integral part of Melbourne since the late 19th century.

This is a Heritage green and yellow tram which has been an icon of Melbourne,

This is the usual appearance of trams in Melbourne city streets.

Some improvised designs. There have been some art trams roaming around, but I didn’t get to see them because of lockdown.

What is it about trams, Teresa? I absolutely love seeing them when I visit my daughter in Nottingham. Love that original one of yours. Still locked up?

I love trams especially when they decorate it with lovely colours. And yes, still locked up. 😢 I don’t wanna think about it anymore, maybe in my dreams it will just suddenly open up.

Thanks Jo, for checking up on the old lady down under. 😂😂😂

I loved seeing the old trams during my last (more recent) 2 visits to Melbourne as they were in general usage during my original stay in Melbourne many years prior.

I love seeing these. I’ve only seen ones like the green one at the top in a trolley (our word) museum. I used to ride on these as a child with my mother. Later, buses took over those routes. I think these are very special door. Thanks for sharing with Thursday Doors .
