Three of a Kind

This week Ann-Christine invites us to post about Three of a Kind or Triptych. Before this, I had no clue what that word even meant.

A triptych to my understanding is a group of 3 separate images displayed together that work hand in hand to create something much more meaningful.

For me the two most common that I personally use but wasn’t aware of are:

Splitting a single image into 3

A very memorable trip to Daylesford, Victoria with my kids before my son left for the UK.

At the Tesselaar KaBloom – Festival Of Flowers in Silvan, Victoria.

Showing a progression

Three shots of the The Twelve Apostles that is off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. My camera went closer and closer to the subject.

Three photos from Geelong which is a city southwest of Melbourne, Australia. Here are three photos of bollards by the waterfront.

A sea of orange flowers taken from different point of views in Sandringham, Victoria.

  2. Great choices, but my favorite is the flower festival collection. The set would look good printed on metal.

these are all beautiful. I thought the first series was going to be my favorite, and as I scrolled down they became even better. Unique take on the challenge too. The festival of flowers belongs in a garden shop or a botanical garden. The Twelve apostles are stunning. Looks like a place to sit all day and watch the day go by. And the different perspective of the sea of orange was a pleasure. Well done! Donna
