The City of Casey

The Plaza in Bunjil Place has been transformed into an immersive garden with oversized sculptures amidst swirls of edible mist. If only I could share with you how sweet the place smelt. (Bunjil Place is a creative hub in the city of Casey’s southeastern suburb in Victoria Australia)

This is part of the Casey Cornucopia in the Winter Arts Festival, which is on until the 17th of this month. The project is in collaboration with London based creative studio, Bompas and Parr.

For Marsha’s Photographing Public Art Challenge

Still in the city of Casey opposite Bunjil Place, AWOL Crew spent four days painting the entire side of the Westfield Shopping Centre in Fountain Gate some few years ago. The Crew consists of Adnate, Slicer, Lucy Lucy, Deams and Itch all of which have their own styles, making this a unique collaboration.

The crew describe this artwork as: “The piece is centred around sleep and subconscious activity. We wanted to capture the transition from conscious to unconscious realities and experiences”.

Beside it is a playground and I am sharing this for Xingfumama’s Pull Up a Seat Challenge

I saw this cute mother and son playing in the park. The boy kept on saying “One more time mum…one more time”.

Wonderful sculptures. I did smile when I saw Fountain Gate shopping centre and had a Kath and Kim moment 🙂

Such a cool post, Teresa, it’s hard to know where to start. The misty vegetables are awesome. The mural is gorgeous. Who can paint such a beautiful woman? It’s amazing to have a collaborative do it. Wow! The seats are cute too, especially the one with the little seat with the young boy enjoying himself. 🙂

Thanks Marsha glad you liked it. Collaborative works get more amazing because of the different styles of the artists.

Yes, that makes it even the more amazing that they could bring it together and make it so beautiful.

The mural is excellent but I’m most intrigued by the immersive garden. I’ve never come across edible mist as part of an installation! I hope they bring this to London, as they are based here.

I sure hope they do bring it there. In the press release they said that it’s the world’s first edible fog. That’s great huh 👍
