Doors in my own style

Here are a few doors that was my entry for some of the art challenges in Instagram. Just as in WordPress where we have challenges and themes every week, Instagram also has the same. I just want to share with you some of the DOORS which I have sketched in my own style.

I sketched this door because of its details and it seems like such a welcoming door. This is the #doorofjuly , a challenge from @inkypaperhouse It is a door in Stockholm, Sweden… a place that I wish to visit one day. #drawdoorofmonth

Sketched on the 8th of July 2022.

A pretty French Restaurant in Paris for this month of August. A challenge from @trinketsetc

A challenge from @carlosrubinaster this is an old house in Porto which i decided to just colour the main house to put more emphasis to it.

As a SPECIAL EVENT for the month of June, a challenge from @trinketsetc This is a pretty, colourful and vibrant doorway to celebrate this month’s inclusivity and diversity … a special rainbow art challenge.

Sketched on the 9th of June 2022

This is my version of A cute seafood restaurant in Clinton USA for @trinketsetc ‘s challenge.

Sketched on the 11th of May 2022

It was my first time joining @eureca1 for the whole hour of sketching. It’s either the tutor was too fast or I was too slow 😂😂😂 I was struggling to catch up. Maybe next time I will get better. #sgshopfrontchallenge

The next two are not challenges but I saw photos of washing lines and wanted to sketch it as a practice. I believe these are from Italy.

A practice of washing lines. This is my “thing” as of this time. But maybe next week will be another theme. @clotheslinespoetry

Another day to practice …. I don’t know why I am inclined to sketching washing lines nowadays @clotheslinespoetry

Your washing lines are beautiful, and I love the house in Porto too. Your sketches are great, Teresa, and I don’t see that it matters how long you take.

Thanks so much Jo. It just mattered because the class only goes for an hour and our tutor finished her work easily but I was rushing haha but anyway we can still continue after anyway and no one will know.

  9. These are awesome! Dan Antion suggested I come have a look at your post and I’m so glad I did! When I grow up and with a lot more practice maybe I’ll draw as well. I love pen/ink and watercolor. 😀

Thanks so much for that. That is my preferred medium because it is easier to handle, more accessible and cheaper 😭

      1. Which is your favorite sketchbook to use? I’m in the process of trying several different ones and haven’t found one I really, really like outside of Strathmore, and Aqua. I’ve been really disappointed with the Mixed Media ones I’ve tried.

I love using A5 Sketchbooks for everyday sketcjing and A4 for travel sketches. I also only use the cheaper sketchbooks because I am just starting and I am just practicing my way. So I use the windsor Newton 300gsm and the Mont Marte Watercolour Pad also 300 gsm. For my washing line series I had been using a Mont Marte 190gsm which is not my particular choice but I am using it because my son bought it for me. The paper is a bit thin.

          1. I’ve been using even thinner paper and I really don’t like it. I’ll have to give these to my Grandson who loves to create his art with Markers and look to see if we have those brands you mentioned here. Thank you!!!
