I know I was supposed to have my last post last Thursday…but I can’t stop myself, especially when I visited all the Christmas decor in the city.
Caught up with my daughter for late lunch last Monday and Jack and I walked the town til dark.
I love taking the train…one because it is cheaper than taking the car, two because you can see the city from high up, since almost all of the stations have removed their ground level crossings.
It was about 45 minutes train ride from our place to the city of Melbourne. These were shots from the Oakleigh Station with people cutouts which I believe is from the 80s era.

This is the Tianjin Gardens Lion Guardians near the exit of the Parliament Station.

On the way to the restaurant, we passed by some colourful and interesting murals.

Then it was lunch… Tucked in a carpark in a hidden laneway off Bourke Street is this authentic looking Thai food place named Soi38 . At first glance, the place didn’t look impressive at all, but after my first sip of the Noodle soup WOW it is just so delicious! No wonder there’s always a queue outside its door.

Christmas trees, decors, streetart, macarons, singing Reindeers… And yes, that is my 28 year old daughter, Pat, still enjoying this silly season!

Then ice cream time

And before we even noticed, the sun was beginning to set.

The spectacular 16m tree and the Christmas balls are back at Fed Square.

Walked to see the Melbourne Town Hall all wrapped up with a bow and moving projections.

A dazzling display of projections on the Flinders Street block.

There were still so much to see as Melbourne comes alive this festive season, but my feet has had enough. So off we took the train back home.

Oh no, I understood exactly what you meant – I’m the one who didn’t explain myself properly. I meant, ‘if we don’t speak again before the new year’ 😘
