We started off at about 4 pm and saw this magnificent autumn colours and the weekend sky.

I wanted to go and see the Temple of Boom at the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria). We got there before 5 pm but the guards were very strict and 20 minutes before closing time, they wouldn’t allow us to go in anymore. We were just able to see it from the glass window. Sad…
The Temple of Boom was done in the likeness of The Parthenon and was painted with overlapping large-scale artworks by Melbourne-based artists. So maybe next time…we will go back to this.
I don’t usually stroll around at night but this weekend I luckily did. Some more buildings and structures taken at night time for Anne’s Lens Artist Photo Challenge – Buildings and Other Structures
The Federation Square or Fed Square as we all call it for short is now a 20 year old Building that looks very modern. At first there were debates on whether people like how it looks like or not. But it is now an iconic structure…a popular meeting area…a square to showcase art installations etc.

The Art Centre turns different colours in sequence and on the foreground is the purple back exit of fed square.
The Cloud Canopy is a free standing canopy structure within the Federation Square.
This is a digital facade which showcases and advertises whatever is on in Melbourne, and this faces the middle of the square.
Just opposite Fed Square is another iconic structure… the Flinders Street Train Station. This is Melbourne’s most historic train station and a major transportation hub which was built in 1854.
This is the present night time colour of the station. The facade lighting responds to the many social and cultural events held in the city.

Thank goodness you decided to stroll around at night for a change. The colors and buildings are stunning. The Temple of Boom is truly fascinating. The color, the likeness to the Parthenon and vision of Melbourne artists gifts you one-of-a-kind art. Very nice.
